House prices in four metros covered by Case-Shiller increased less in the last 12 months than in the previous 12 months.
Only Miami and Tampa were still setting recent house price appreciation records in May.
The amount of money you could borrow with a $1,000 monthly principal and interest mortgage payment fell from almost $250,000 in January 2021 to $170,000 today.
Nationally, the real mortgage payment price of houses was higher than at the top of the 2000s real estate boom and this data is only through May.
