Remember, the National Association of Realtors fought against the 1968 Fair Housing Act but at the same time they supported the 1968 HUD Act and its Section 235 Program which subsidized lower-income and “urban” mortgages.
Both groups have been big supporters of “affordable” (higher-foreclosure) mortgages and they often use past redlining as a justification.
